The people of Camagüey, as worthy sons of Agramonte, have reaffirmed these days the validity of the legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the teachings of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, as an expression of resistance and victory

Camagüey, Cuba, Jan 26th.- With the purpose of raising the preparation of all categories of personnel to develop the fight against risks, threats and aggressions to the internal security of the territory in a scenario of unconventional war and fight against the invasion of the enemy, the National Day of Defense took place in Camagüey.
Up to Defense Zone 23 Buenos Aires-Bella Vista, the highest leadership of the Provincial Defense Council in Camagüey appreciated in the Company Cervecería Tínima the response capacity of its collective to ensure the protection of human lives in the midst of an ammonia leak.
Likewise, the special training of the Territorial Division of the Cuban Telecommunications Company was presented to this body, made up of 150 personnel and 21 means of transport, including an engineering machine, to carry out assigned missions such as ensuring communications during the armed struggle, as well as providing assistance to the sectors of the economy and the population.
On the other hand, an exercise in target protection was carried out at the Provincial Electric Company, an opportune moment to recognize the valuable work carried out by the sector’s workers in the midst of a complex electrical energy scenario, said Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia, vice president of the Provincial Defense Council.
Also, as part of the National Defense Day, at the municipal training polygon, a combined class was held that included training on communications, protection against weapons of mass destruction, engineering, military topography, ground artillery, anti-aircraft defense, shooting, among other topics.
At the end of the day, a group of Camagüeyans who stood out in defense tasks deserved the Distinguished Service of the FAR and the Distinction in Preparation for Defense, while a group of entities that contribute to the defense of the country were encouraged.
Federico Hernández Hernández, president of the Provincial Defense Council, stressed that preserving the sovereignty and independence of the nation also means advancing in food production, raising the quality of services, increasing sensitivity, promoting the main investment programs, addressing social transformations, as well as confronting crime and other harmful phenomena.
