The recovery of three locomotives for cargo and passenger transportation, maintenance and repair of buildings in the province and attention to the stations of Florida, Martí and Jaronú are planned

Camagüey, Cuba, Jan 23rd.- On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the completion of the first section of the central line and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz operating a Soviet-made locomotive at the inauguration, railway workers are preparing a broad plan of activities to celebrate their day on January 29.
Saily Badillo Cervantes, director of Development and Business Management of the Centro-Oeste Railway Company, headquarters of the provincial event for the anniversary, shared some of the initiatives such as intergenerational meetings, tours of the stations, the traditional Martí gala on the 28th and the activity dedicated to men and women at the Railway Club.
Among those honored during the day was the head of the Hatuey station, in the municipality of Sibanicú, Mauricio Victoria Gómez, with fifty years of experience and important innovative contributions together with a group on board trains, as crew members or drivers.
Dania Espinosa Rivero, head of the Stations Department of the UEB Ferrocarriles Camagüey, explained that operators and mechanics in the workshops for the repair of tracks and in the agencies and offices where they provide services, among other responsibilities, are also recognized.
She mentioned that the recovery of three locomotives for the loading and transportation of passengers, the maintenance and repair of buildings in the province and the attention to the stations of Florida, Martí and Jaronú are planned.
