Law 145 on Territorial and Urban Planning and Land Management establishes for the first time the transfer of state-owned rooftops for the construction of housing, of which the City of Tinajones has 458

Camagüey, Cuba, Jan 20th.- After a broad analysis, the Municipal Administration Council of Camagüey approved the Territorial and Urban Planning Plan for the capital of Camagüey, whose oldest segment was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site.
This program -meticulously prepared by the agency with such a mission- outlines a broad group of tasks aimed at expanding and improving the housing stock of the city and its surroundings in the short, medium and long term.
This includes attention to the 50 precarious neighborhoods that have in common a lack of public spaces, difficulties with access to drinking water and waste disposal, deficient social services and environmental and flood risks.
It also provides for the surveillance of 42 buildings identified with symptoms of ruins due to the poor state of conservation of their structure or some of their physical elements, and of incompatible buildings considered polluting industries.
