Despite resource limitations, the Camagüey Electric Company is focused on achieving greater efficiency in the provision of services, prioritizing the reduction of electricity losses as one of its main objectives for 2025

Camagüey, Cuba, Jan 17th.- The Camagüey Electric Company has several work projections for this year with the aim of improving efficiency in the management of electric consumption, measurement and payment of the service through digital platforms.
Rolando Camallere Alba, Commercial Director of the entity, mentioned that in the state sector there are more than 800 centers classified as large energy consumers, which represents a key area to implement greater control and supervision of consumption.
So far, around 600 of them already have remote telemetry cards, which allows generating graphs and analysis of electric expenditure in specific periods, thus facilitating informed decision making, Camallere Alba highlighted.
In the residential area, the replacement of meters continues, where approximately 14 thousand devices with a high level of breakages were identified. By the end of last year, around nine thousand meters had been replaced according to the availability of resources in the province, he clarified.
With the arrival of new resources in the first half of this year, it is planned to introduce new services and increase their capacity, an activity that had been paralyzed since 2019, he said.
Another initiative that is expected to advance is the implementation of the collection of the service through electronic channels, which closed last year with an adoption rate of 41 percent.
Camallere Alba also stressed the importance of establishing a single cash register in commercial offices, which would facilitate access to cash for the population.
