Camagüey, Cuba, Jan 9th.- This province has more than a hundred entities that are part of the Family Care System, attended by the more than 20 Gastronomy Base Business Units operating in the main municipality.

Within the center of the city of the princely city there are several facilities of this program, on República Street is El Cerdito, with a capacity to serve 149 beneficiaries and currently provides services for 148.

In addition, they have the service of selling food, also at reasonable prices, along with the lunches and meals that they offer to the elderly and vulnerable people who receive the service managed by social workers.

According to the established rules, the menu must include rice, main course, broth, salads, meats and dessert; not to mention that both at national and local level the quality of the offering in some units causes discontent among those assisted, due to the difficult economic situation that the country is going through.

Since 1998, Cuba has had the Family Care System, popularly known as SAF, a program that integrates gastronomic units as providers of food for the elderly, people with disabilities, critical social cases, those with insufficient income and without relatives who can provide help.
