Camagüey, Cuba, Jan 9th.- The Basic Business Unit of Generator Sets and Electrical Services (Geysel) in Camagüey, received an important donation of four kits of parts from China.
This gesture of solidarity that includes accessories for generator sets is part of the multilateral cooperation agreements between Miguel Díaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, focused on the recovery of the National Electric Power System.
Carlos Rubio Limonta, director of Geysel in the territory, explained that two of the kits are destined for the Guáimaro plant, one for Florida and the last for the facility located in the municipality of Camagüey.
On January 11, a 1.88 megawatt (MW) engine will be started up at the plant in the capital of Agramonte with the assistance of Chinese technicians, which will increase the total capacity to 13 MW.
The Geysel team -made up of specialists, mechanics, electricians and operators- is excited by this opportunity to revitalize the plant by demonstrating that the country is actively working on improving its energy infrastructure; in addition, on January 14, Electric Worker’s Day, the group plans to celebrate its commitment to energy by starting up the engine, he added.
