Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 13th.- Inserted in the Government’s strategic line Management of sustainable local tourism, the project Resilient blue tourism in the context of climate change destination Santa Lucía beach shows progress in its execution in the province of Camagüey.

Lisbet Font Vila, territorial delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) in this province, specified that as part of its implementation, the study of the beaches and the state of the coral reefs have been updated as support for the definition of new limits of the protected area.

Likewise, she pointed out that a monitoring of the underwater slope has been carried out in areas with Thalassia removal and two technical projects for dune rehabilitation were concluded in two hotel facilities in that resort.

With the purpose of exploiting medicinal mud for use in tourism, a technical project was approved and on the 21st of this month, in tune with the beginning of the high season, the launch of the tourist product Club Cliente Azul is expected, informed Gerson Herrera Pupo, director of the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies of Tourism, attached to the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.

On the other hand, he mentioned the projects Circular Economy in Hotels, Innovative Alternatives for Sustainable Tourism Gastronomy, and in particular he stressed that work is being done on the approval of another project focused on taking advantage of the values ​​that the municipalities have to develop rural and heritage tourism.
