Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 10th.- Bringing researchers, professors, students and readers closer to the future of the nation is the primary objective of the Leer la Historia event, which in its seventh edition will be held here between December 12 and 14.

Doctor of Science Fernando Manzo Alonso, president of the Camagüeyan branch of the National Union of Historians of Cuba (UNHIC), commented that they will once again go to educational institutions and cultural centers, among other spaces, to promote knowledge of the country’s heritage.

The event, scheduled for the morning of the 12th at the Café Literario La Comarca, will be inaugurated with the lecture Characteristics of the Bourgeois Republic in Cuba, by the doctor of sciences Francisca López Civeira; in addition, the UNHIC 2024 Research Scholarship will be awarded.

Among the topics that will be discussed in panels, talks and round tables are the role of women in diplomacy, the approach to figures such as Salvador Cisneros Betancourt, Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz and José Martí Pérez; the teaching of the discipline and the development of the Cuba-United States relationship, among others.

The event will reach several of the municipalities of Camagüey and the main element will be the presentation of printed and electronic books that delve into local and universal history.

The seventh edition of the event Read History is dedicated to the anniversaries of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the constitution of the UNHIC, in addition to honoring teachers.
