November, 2024.- Camagüey said goodbye to the 19th edition of the National Theater Festival aboard the ship; one that once again did not disappoint those who were eagerly awaiting its return to this Mediterranean city and that delighted those who for the first time enjoyed the artistic mastery of its members.

The wise decision of an extra performance in the afternoon, in addition to the two at night, brought a greater number of people to the Haversham Mansion and to those who were hanging around it at the time of Charles’s murder.

A detective proposal that surprised by the rushed way in which the events unfold, a play within a play, in which from the beginning the audience’s ability to decipher reality is put to the test and where the acting begins.

The laughter of the spectators was not lacking throughout the performance and once again Camagüey camped hours before in the Avellaneda theater to access the tickets for each performance, just as it happened in the rest of the rooms that were the stage of the Festival.

A young collective -only five years after its founding- the Creative Community Nave Oficio de Isla set a standard in the Cuban scene from its first performance.

The same one that endures today and raises the quality of its artistic proposal from the performance of its figures with a long career, in an excellent mix with young actors who unfold and give ample evidence of their talent on stage.

The legendary festival returned to the streets and theatres of Camagüey, the audiences and public spaces were filled, the city applauded and thanked this haven of art amidst so much storm.

This edition will remain as a memory and experience so that the next one will be better, and this land will not lose its reputation as a theatre venue of excellence, recognised in every corner of «the land that produces sugar cane».
