Camagüey: University of the Arts holds 35th anniversary graduation

Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 15th.- With the joy of training professionals committed to defending Cuban culture, the graduation ceremony of the Camagüey branch of the University of the Arts (ISA) took place here.

Dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the institution, it served to recognize students in different profiles who overcame years of preparation, including those who received the recognition of Gold Degree and Comprehensive Graduates.

Romi Medina Cabo, vice-rector of ISA in Camagüey, urged graduates to maintain ties with the academy, to return to undertake new paths of training, to maintain creative work and to share with the community the knowledge acquired for the common good and the country.

He stressed that in these 35 years they had an excellent faculty made up of artists from the local avant-garde, and received the encouragement of the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz and the branches of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and the Hermanos Saíz Association.

Ricardo de la Paz Cervantes, a graduate of the institute, commented that the graduates «have hundreds of experiences and shared moments, hours of study, films, rehearsals; we are left with the satisfaction of knowing that we have completed the subject of taking art as a path in life.»

Since the opening of an ISA headquarters in Camagüey, nearly 400 young people from various Cuban provinces have studied here in areas of creation such as ballet, music and audiovisual communication.
