To reach the center’s objective, families must be fully involved in the educational process -which continues at home- and in the dynamics that the school intends
Camagüey, Cuba, Oct 25th.- The Carlos Rodríguez Careaga Project, in the city of Camagüey, assumes the preparation of children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities, who attend the institution from preschool to the ninth grade.
The school develops actions based on preventive work based on the opinion issued by the Municipal Diagnostic and Orientation Center (CDO) on the conditions of the children.
Based on this, the teachers implement educational responses based on projecting the students to a better development within society.
In the current course, the academy had 10 new students, with whom the characterization process corresponding to the first months of the school year was carried out; It is based on the interaction of educators with the students’ environment and the participation of health specialists in cases where it is required.
Olga Lydia Rodríguez Hernández, psychopedagogue of the Carlos Rodríguez Careaga Institutional Project, highlights that in order to achieve the center’s objective, families must be fully involved in the educational process -which continues at home- and in the dynamics that the school intends to interact with everyone who intervenes in the preparation of the children.
