October, 2025.- The National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) is an organization that aims to promote and guide the creative initiative of Cuban workers in the search for solutions to important and complex economic, social and defense problems country.

Given the blockade imposed by the United States government more than sixty years ago, which extraordinarily limits the Cuban Revolution in the acquisition of equipment and spare parts, their work is essential.

This association, which is voluntary and selective, where the members approve their own regulations, discuss and make agreements, in addition to electing their representatives in the management of the Cuban Workers’ Union (CTC), and is governed by the statutes of this.

The ANIR emerged from the Movement of Innovators and Rationalizers created by Commander Ernesto Che Guevara in the 60s of the 20th century, when he served as Minister of Industries; then -during the celebration of the historic XIII Congress of the CTC- the agreement was made to officially establish the organization and October 8, 1976 was chosen for its constitution in tribute to the Heroic Guerrilla’s fall in combat.

Representing the interests of the members and forming in them an innovative consciousness for the introduction and application of science and technology is the main mission of the movement, from which it contributes to the achievement of an efficient and competitive economy in defense of the homeland socialist.

The emergence of this movement is inspired by the figure and idea of ​​Commander Ernesto Che Guevara when he said «worker build your machine.»

For more than forty years, the ANIR has had its legal basis and is moving towards new goals in the heat of the economic and social guidelines approved at the VI Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
