Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 19th.- The Carlos J. Finlay University of Medical Sciences in Camagüey officially began the new 2024-2025 academic year in its Medicine, Dentistry, Health Technology and Nursing courses, the latter two of which include the training of mid-level technicians.

The opening ceremony was dedicated to the Palestinian peoples who suffer from Zionist aggression. A poetic song recalled the thousands who suffer burns and trauma, those who do not survive the arrogance of the Israeli government that tries to forcibly tear away a thousand-year-old identity.

During the ceremony, continuing students handed over the flag of the University Student Federation (FEU) to the newcomers, who signed a document in which they swore their dedication and loyalty to the population, which from now on trusts the new soldiers in white coats.

Dr. Tamara Chaos Correa, the center’s rector, warmly welcomed the students and professors who are beginning a new teaching cycle in order to guarantee the quality of life of Cubans and other nations of the world.

The ceremony was presided over by leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), the Union of Young Communists (UJC), directors of the University and of the student and union organizations of the center.

The work of various departments and directorates that worked in the last stage on the operation of the higher education institution that will celebrate its 45th anniversary on June 4 of next year was recognized.
