Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 13th.- The Los Pinos Genetic-Based Business Unit, belonging to the Triángulo Tres Livestock Company, is currently undergoing a recovery process.
The new director of the organization, Danilo González Batista, said that since he took office in July, he and the group have been working to rescue livestock, their main mission.
At the same time, this group is working on creating a self-consumption area of around 10 hectares, where they have already planted different crops such as banana, cassava, pumpkin and sweet potato.
Efforts are focused on breeding with Jersey, Siboney and Holstein breeds, where artificial insemination is expected to produce more than half a million liters of milk for the industry by 2027.
A goat project is being revived in the Nubian category, with 50 breeding females ready for insemination, which will allow for the production of genetically registered animals that will also provide milk in two years.
Other immediate tasks of the workers of the Los Pinos Genetic-Based Business Unit, in the municipality of Camagüey, are the repair and beautification of all its facilities and the arrangement of the fence.
