Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 9th.- Actions have been underway in the region for several years with the aim of achieving adequate development of renewable energy based on import substitution.

Roberto Escalona Durán, director of the Office for Rational Use of Energy (ONURE) in the province, said that three photovoltaic solar parks with a generation capacity of 21.8 MW are currently being built.

He explained that two of these investments are located in the territories of Vertientes and Sierra de Cubitas and the other in the capital of Agramonte, which should be completed in May of next year.

The director assured that the resources necessary for the execution of the works are guaranteed, as well as the workforce, belonging to the Construction and Assembly Company No. 1.
