Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 6th.- In the current context full of complexities due to the strict blockade and the global crisis, in this municipality work is being done to strengthen agriculture and guarantee food sovereignty.
Jakeline Carmenates Basulto, the representative of the sector in the territory, said at the start of the cold sowing campaign, which is expected to grow by four percent compared to the previous operation.
To ensure this assignment, several actions were carried out, such as discussion of plans, integrated pest management, definition of areas to be protected and the balance of workforce, water, seeds and machinery.
Key challenges were also identified, including high input prices, increasing effects of climate change and lack of fuels and lubricants.
