Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 2nd.- The words spoken by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, at the opening ceremony of the 2002-2003 school year marked the beginning of the new school year in the provincial capital, with headquarters at the Rafael María de Mendive semi-boarding school.

Master of Science Osdeine Hernández Navarro, general director of Education in the municipality of Camagüey, inaugurated the teaching calendar with the certainty that “despite the difficulties that the country is going through, the educational sector works every day on its improvement to bring better prepared teachers and students to the classrooms”.

The space was conducive to presenting the Distinction for Cuban Education to teachers with satisfactory results in the sector, they were Lourdes Alberto la Rosa, Silvia Rodríguez Consuegra and Raidel Barrero Sifonte.

The host center was recognized for its example and dedication, having stood out during the last academic year in important areas such as the quality of the teaching process and the implementation of the transformations of the third improvement of the Cuban educational system.

The sector’s executives, students, workers and their families were accompanied by representatives of the Cuban Communist Party and the Government in the City of Tinajones.
