Camagüey, Cuba, July 30th.- The work of the Territorial Division of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in Camagüey during the second half of the year has been outstanding, focusing its efforts on making investments in rural communities and improving access to Internet.

Mailen Durán Rodríguez, Communication specialist at the aforementioned entity, pointed out that despite not incorporating new services, complaints from the population about navigation and accessibility to electronic payments in remote areas are being managed.

The installation of a third generation base station in the rural towns of Mojacasabe and Belén, located in the municipality of Najasa, will offer important benefits to nearly three thousand inhabitants.

Despite the difficulties and lack of resources, significant progress has been made, such as the installation of towers in Carrasco and Vilató; In addition, work is being done in the territory to guarantee that the popular councils of La Bayamesa and San José can access the services offered by that group.

Maintenance actions are also carried out on the networks and technologies in the municipality of Vertientes, which is essential to improve traffic on the lines, especially in locations such as Camagüey, Florida and Nuevitas.

ETECSA’s efforts in Camagüey demonstrate a firm commitment to the development of telecommunications in remote areas. This initiative not only contributes to closing the digital divide but also significantly improves the quality of life of its inhabitants.
