Facing and resolving these problems is the main challenge for communal services workers in Camagüey, who fight against difficulties related to the shortage of material and human resources
Camagüey, Cuba, July 8th.- The sustainability of communal hygiene in Camagüey faces significant challenges due to technical and human resource limitations.
Bárbaro Osorio de los Reyes, director of Community Services, highlights that solid waste collection has become a complex task, especially in the provincial capital, due to problems in the insurance processes.
In the midst of a business transformation, it is expected that the salary improvement will contribute to the completion of the workforce, thus contributing to performance in their functions.
However, the availability of adequate equipment for waste collection remains insufficient, and the proliferation of micro-landfills in the city aggravates the situation, exacerbated by delays in collection and social indiscipline.
Osorio de los Reyes points out that efforts are being made to eliminate these landfills with the help of mechanized equipment. In addition, work is being done to recover equipment to reinforce collection in the most affected areas, such as the Julio Antonio Mella district, where less than 50 percent of the required staff is covered.
With the current epidemiological situation, measures have been taken to address the most affected territories, including the stratification and eradication of more than 150 microlandfills, with sanitation actions in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Sur and other areas of the capital.
Facing and resolving these problems is the main challenge for communal services workers in Camagüey, who fight against difficulties related to the shortage of material and human resources.
