Camagüey, Cuba, July 3th.- Next Sunday, July 6, the program of summer activities organized by the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC) begins, which focuses its actions on knowledge of culture and history of the territory.
A new edition of the Arte Plaza Fair, dedicated to the anniversary of the declaration of the oldest section of the city’s historic center as Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will mark the start of the summer stage for the institution, a stage in which the Office will hold a Job Fair.
The 2024 summer proposals are the result of an analysis made from the experiences of previous years and the incorporation of activities that combine the care of public spaces, learning and inclusion, the director of the OHCC said at a press conference, José Rodríguez Barreras.
The institution will develop activities that will cover the requirements so that people with physical-motor disabilities and special needs can participate in the summer initiatives.
A total of 19 workshops will be the options that the Camagüey public will have to get closer to the arts, local and foreign traditions, health care, as well as increase their knowledge about the history of Camagüey from various specialties.
Likewise, about 12 tours of the princely city will be available, one of the most requested proposals of the Historian’s Office; They will have an affordable value for the entire population because the institution adjusts the programming to the current context, stated José Rodríguez Barreras.
Starting July 1, the Cultural Management Center, located on Independencia Street, will keep its doors open as an information and sales bureau for all those interested in the workshops and tours.
Coppelia Park is a space that will also take center stage during the summer with the projection of audiovisual materials and the participation in these actions of cultural centers and actors from the City of Tinajones.
