Young people from the Camagüey Maternal Hospital contribute to improving indicators

Camagüey, Cuba, June 23th.- The Ana Betancourt de Mora Gynecobstetric University Hospital presented at the end of May an infant mortality rate of 4.2 deaths per thousand live births, better than the same date of the previous year.

With eight fewer deaths and without having to mourn maternal losses, the contribution of new generations of workers and specialists to these results is recognized, many of them members of the Union of Young Communists (UJC).

During the implementation of the Youth Asset in that care center, one of the activities that are part of the strengthening of the organization’s work emanating from the XII Congress, emphasis was placed on maintaining as priorities attention to the fundamental activity and political work with the new generations.

Alejandro Rondón Vivian, computer scientist at the Materno Hospital, highlighted the cohesive work they have with other organizations and with the different services; while the Graduate in Nursing Yaciel García Reyes said that they have excellent teachers for their training and that everyone must contribute to making young people fall in love with the different tasks.

Roberto Alejandro Carrazana, head of the UJC in the center, commented that they are attentive to the increase in cases of dengue in pregnant women and that from services such as Nursing, Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology, the effort from the profession is multiplied and by integrating the vanguard youth of society.

The member of the Cuban Parliament also said that they are immersed in revitalizing the processes and intensifying the work at the base to achieve a more dynamic, inclusive and transformative organization.

For her part, Yanet Hernández Aguilera, member of the National Bureau of the UJC, highlighted the motivation that exists in the entity driven by the center’s youth. «We are proud of the work they do in each job because they perform tasks that require great human sensitivity», he said.

In the context of the 83rd anniversary of the Ana Betancourt de Mora Gynecobstetric University Hospital, young people with outstanding work were recognized.
