Camagüey, Cuba, Dec 21st.- With the recognition of outstanding teachers, centers and directors during the period, the municipal event for Educator’s Day was held at the Avellaneda theater.
There Yurisdelvis Basulto García, municipal secretary of the National Union of Education, Science and Sports, read a letter addressed to the union in which the daily effort in the training of new generations is recognized.
At the commemoration, seven prominent people from Camagüey received the José Tey Medal, intended to recognize teachers with outstanding careers, among them was Leyanis Moret Caballero, who is currently carrying out an internationalist mission as an advisor for the Yo sí puedo program, in Honduras.
Along with the different exhibitions of the artistic gifts of local childhoods, several teachers were awarded the Rafael María de Mendive Distinction, the For the Homeland recognition and encouragement to several retirees in the sector.
In addition, the Victoria de Girón mixed center and the Esteban Borrero basic secondary school were recognized for their merits in pedagogical training and continuity of studies.
