Camagüey workers in the food industry debate union functioning

Camagüey, Cuba, Nov 8th.- In greeting to the Second Conference of the National Union of Food Industry and Fishing Workers, to be held at the provincial level on the 15th, leaders of the union in this municipality debated how to move forward in this important forehead.

At the meeting, the insufficiencies that the Union’s work still presents in the demarcation and the way to achieve better performance and adequately develop the changes that are required to improve results were critically evaluated.

Essential elements that determine the organic life of the organization were also analyzed, namely union functioning, membership assemblies and their quality, comprehensive attention to the worker, the development of assets, payment systems and salaries.

Other issues that were delved into are related to the work done in each workplace to increase production and make the fight against crime, corruption and illegalities more effective.

Edel Jaquez Johnson, official of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, called for initiatives to be put into practice in each place to achieve better results, taking into account that there are still many reserves to be exploited.
