Camagüey, Cuba, October 27th.- Michel Mirabal, the plastic artist, likes Camagüey and does not hide from saying so. That is, precisely, the cause that has motivated him for months to coordinate with friends and clients from the European continent to bring donations to this province.

It is the third time that he breaks into Camagüey hospitals with syringes, gloves, all types of disposable materials, medicines, clothing and toys.

Camagüey, he said, has welcomed me, but it is also a large city where people from different provinces are served and, thus, our help reaches more in need.

This container was made up in Spain, but there was so much that almost half of another container was left there, so we plan to continue looking for the needs of the territory to return next February, he highlighted.

We know that there are many economic problems we have and needs. That’s why I think we should support each other and if we can, let’s contribute a grain of sand and save lives, he added.

As detailed by Iria Alba, director of the project, since 2015 this has been a constant task for them, to look for collaborators and deliver donations of various types to those most in need. That is why they urge those who wish to send donations to the island, because these do reach those who need them.

Medical institutions such as the Eduardo Agramonte Piña pediatric hospital, the Manuel Ascunce provincial hospital, the Ana Betancourt obstetrician-gynecologist, the nursing home and homes for children without family protection received parts of these supplies, which as detailed by Idelvis Escobar Paz, an official from the provincial directorate of Health that addresses international relations, donations and projects, in the same way they will reach the municipalities.

So far this year, the doctor added, this is the largest donation we have received. It has an amount of around 52 thousand euros and includes shoes, clothing, disposable pants, beds, wheelchairs, walkers, many supplies that solve many of the emergencies we have.
