Camagüey: Federation of Cuban Women promotes better actions

Camagüey, Cuba, October 31st.- During the recently held Balance Assembly of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC, Spanish Acronym), in this municipality, Yuneisi Caballero Álvarez, ratified as general secretary of the organization, read the report that includes the work carried out during the last stage.

Prior to the meeting, an extensive program of activities was developed that included training, debates in the communities, the local strategy for closing assemblies by Popular Councils, in addition to tours of the city by the FMC Secretariat.

Caballero Álvarez pointed out that it is the Federation’s priority to energize the functioning of blocks and delegations, adapting to the situations of Cuban women today to encourage them to identify and feel represented by the organization.

In the region -with a figure of 139 thousand 35 women- the sampling carried out by the Municipal Committee of the Federation of Cuban Women confirmed that there is a lack of internal control in various base structures in terms of transfers, dismissals and new incorporations.

The General Secretary of the municipality also expressed that the XI Congress balance process reached a high number of participants, more than 20 percent (%) of the grassroots leaders and delegations were renewed and more than 70% were ratified in office, which showed that more young people need to be incorporated into management positions.

The FMC in the municipality of Camagüey arrived at the Balance Assembly with the certainty that it is necessary to increase efforts so that the work increasingly achieves higher quality and continue the implementation of strategies in pursuit of the rights and duties of the people of Camagüey in the society.
