Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 5th.- The results in the academic field and the contribution of the students, from their knowledge and specialties, to the socioeconomic life of the territory and the nation constituted an exhortation of Federico Hernández Hernández, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in Camagüey, in exchanges with students and teachers from various educational institutions.
At the Máximo Gómez Báez Mixed Center, the general director, Niurka Fraga Alfonso, MSc., reported that the school calendar began as planned, and explained that enrollment amounts to 1,875 students, of which 1,035 correspond to the Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences, and 364 are new entrants.
He reported on the operation of the six groups that make up the High-Performance Student Training Center, and by the way, the political leader called to further motivate the inclination towards the study of science to provide solutions to various problems of the reality of Camagüey.
Subsequently, the also member of the Central Committee of the PCC and Governor Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia spoke at the University of Medical Sciences about the need for a greater impact on the main indicators of Public Health and on the well-being of the communities through of projects and other initiatives, without neglecting academic rigor.
The rector, PhD. MD. Tamara Chaos Correa, commented that the approximately five thousand undergraduate students, plus those from different specialties, restarted the 2023 academic year without any setbacks; while technical education students from the ninth grade did begin their new calendar this Monday.
Then they appreciated the construction progress in a tower of the student residence, the court for sports practice and other facilities that contribute to the comprehensive training of future doctors in a university that last July celebrated 43 years of foundation and that among its most immediate challenges has the III National Pediatric Student Scientific Event PEDIACAM 2023.

Other centers such as the Nicolás Guillén Batista Provincial Pedagogical School and the Mártires de Pino Tres Agricultural Polytechnic Institute, which respond to priorities in the training of said specialties, were also included in the checkup of the highest Camagüeyan authorities on the initial day of the teaching period, in which 693 General Education schools received more than 110 thousand students in the province.
