Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 3rd.- As one of the closing activities of the summer stage of the Enrique José Varona Provincial Book and Literature Center, the Meñique prizes were awarded, which highlight the creation among the smallest members of the family.
In the Agramonte Park, of this half-millennial city, specialists from the institution, Ácana Editorial and professors from the Houses of Culture met to deliver the awards in the demonstrations called corresponding to different educational levels.
Among the 32 works presented, the winners in poetry were Paola Fernández Hernández and Lester Vargas Hernández; and in story Lesyany Esquivel Rojas and Jessica Cepero Junco. Mentions were received by Danna Molinet Galindo, Alex Jesús Narváez and Suliet Lezcano Alberto.
The jury, made up of the writers Yunexis Nobalbo, Juan Miguel Castillo and Evelin Queipo, highlighted the work that is done in the princely region to cultivate the habit of reading from an early age and with it the approach to the world of letters from the creation.
The award ceremony for the 2023 Meñique Children’s Literature Contest represented the closure of the Verano con amor space, which every Saturday night during the holidays brought the new generations closer to the latest literature designed for them.
With book presentations, animation games and presentations by clown artists, the evenings were spent in the center of Ciudad de los Tinajones, which, along with other spaces, distinguished the Enrique José Varona Center as one of the most active institutions in terms of promoting cultural and healthy recreation is concerned.
