Camagüey, Cuba, Aug 11th.- With the execution of more than 224 million pesos that have an impact on the improvement of the water supply in various locations in Camagüey, this province celebrates today the 61st anniversary of the creation of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH, Spanish Acronym).
Betsy Rodríguez Cardoso, director of Investments of the INRH Provincial Delegation, commented to the Cuban News Agency, that in the case of Jimaguayú, actions are being promoted to optimize the supply of the vital liquid in the municipal seat, and in the same way in the area de Quan Try also began projects for the development of a new conductor.
Due to its importance for the tourist development of the territory of Camagüey, she specified that supply and sanitation works are being undertaken to ensure the tourist infrastructure of Cayo Cruz, in addition to the work to benefit the settlement of Jaronú, located in Esmeralda, to the north, with a new sewage system from the province.
The commitments of the housing program, the wells and the rehabilitation of hydraulic installations are fulfilled, and at the same time, he pointed out, priority is given to repairs in the reservoirs affected by the intense rains in June.
Regarding the executions of greatest socioeconomic interest, he highlighted the purpose of putting into service, this year, the new conductor from the Máximo and Pontezuela dams, as well as the 20 kilometers already built to guarantee the supply to Santa Lucía beach, belonging to the municipality of Nuevitas, with which it is intended to even include other communities en route that currently receive water through pipes.
Precisely in this industrial territory, more than two thousand inhabitants already receive the entrance of the precious resource in an intradomiciliary way with cycles of less than three days, from the investments that are made in the pumping station and the water treatment plant, in addition to the repair and rehabilitation of large leaks.
Although there are still dissatisfactions with the operations, the leaks and the obstructions, the workers of the sector assume the daily commitment to maintain the will of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz to develop and expand the largest hydraulic infrastructure in the country, to the privilege of the people of Camagüey.
