«We developed four lines of work: individual guidance, group guidance, training and training, and community outreach,» he said.
Regarding the training courses, the FMC in Camagüey registers more than 50 so far this year on topics such as commercial management, gastronomic services, cutting and sewing and executive secretary, «added the official.
Courses for everyone
Very attentive to Professor Delfín Roura were the students of the comprehensive gastronomic services course, specifically canteen, which is currently taking place at the Women and Families Orientation House in the capital of Camagüey.
This is one of the classes with the greatest influx, as it is taught by a renowned bartender with 34 years of experience and linked to the FMC to share his knowledge, especially with young people eager to venture into the world of cocktails.
«From here they leave with knowledge of international canteens and obtain a title that allows them to access the employment agency for tourism,» said Roura.
He referred to the wide possibilities for those who receive canteen lessons there, since several of the graduates already work in hotels and private enterprises.
Open doors to empowerment
Among the girls who appreciate the opportunity in the canteen course offered by the House of Guidance for Women and Families in Camagüey are Adriana Téllez and Thais Valdés.
In Adriana’s case, a friend made the suggestion and, after finishing twelfth grade, she was motivated to spend part of the summer doing something that always caught her attention. Thais had studied Administration at the House itself and chose to continue expanding his knowledge.
Along with them are other young people like Michel González, a food preparation graduate from Formatur, but with inclinations as a bartender.
This is a glimpse of the opportunities that youth and also those who accumulate years can find in the Women’s and Families Orientation Houses, where the doors remain open to empowerment and multiple learning.
