Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 15th.- With greater comfort in the areas that guarantee the vitality of health services and the development of 39 specialties for care work, the Doctor Eduardo Agramonte Piña Provincial Pediatric Hospital in Camagüey is getting ready to celebrate its 55th years of founding on July 23.
Dr. Leonardo Ramírez Rodríguez, director of that medical institution, explained at a press conference that in greeting to the anniversary different rooms have been repaired, with the support of companies and mediums and little enterprises known as mypimes, (due to its Spanish acronym) in the territory, in addition to the process of installing an oxygen plant and the improvement of laundry equipment.
At the same time, he highlighted, the qualification of a second boiler, the signaling, soon, of the main sites of the center, as well as the operation of a telephone plant that favors communication between workers, patients and families, stand out.
As part of the program of activities, he commented, the cancellation of a postage stamp will take place on July 19th, while on the 21st and 22nd there will be a great scientific day together with another one on child surgery, while the Conjunto Folklórico Camagua will give away a cultural gala for the enjoyment of the collective.

In particular, he pointed out the therapeutic impact of diagnostic specialties such as Imaging, the Clinical, Suma, Microbiology and Molecular Immunology laboratories that emerged in the midst of the confrontation with COVID-19.
He confirmed that the experiences acquired during the pandemic made it possible to reorganize medical assistance and better prepare the more than 800 professionals who daily assume complex tasks, such as attention to dengue cases, given the high incidence of the disease in Camagüey.
Undergraduate and postgraduate training is prioritized, he specified, and in this sense, he added, the hospital ensures the preparation of specialists in Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Psychiatry and Pediatrics, the latter recently assessed by the National Accreditation Board.
Given the marked limitations of medical supplies for the development of surgical activity, he explained that the necessary resources are available for emergencies and urgency, while cancer is a priority and the rest of the pathologies are treated in accordance with the analysis of the specialists.
With a capacity for 356 beds, an Intensive Care service for 11 patients, a polyclinic dedicated to external consultation and more than 50 collaborators in 17 countries, the Doctor Eduardo Agramonte Piña Provincial Pediatric Hospital will celebrate its 55th anniversary, with the commitment to raise the quality of life of girls and boys, he asserted.
