Díaz-Canel: the blockade against Cuba is anchored in time

Havana, Oct 20.- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez stated today that the US blockade policy against his country is anchored in time.

He signed the words pronounced the day before by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez , when he told the accredited press that the Caribbean island changes every day, and will continue to change.

«Cuba renews itself all the time,» said the Head of Cuban diplomacy when presenting the report on the impact of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Caribbean nation.

I endorse every word of our Foreign Minister @BrunoRguezP: «Cuba changes every day, and will continue to change. Cuba renews itself all the time. What does not change, what is not renewed, what is anchored in the past, is the policy of blocking». #BestNoBlock – Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez (@DiazCanelB) October 20, 2022

Between August 2021 and February 2022 alone, this unilateral policy caused losses of some 3,806.5 million dollars to the Cuban people and government.

He highlighted in his speech that the current US administration maintains the 243 measures applied by former President Donald Trump to further tighten the blockade, including the inclusion of Cuba on the list of nations allegedly sponsoring terrorism, which hinders the development of the largest of The Antilles.
