Solidarity container from Catalonia leaves for Cuba
Madrid, 13 Sep.- The fourth container of the «Tons of Solidarity against the Blockade of Cuba» campaign left for the Caribbean island from Catalonia, according to its organizers today.
The initiative, led by the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (Mesc), composed of 60 organizations, including the Catalan platform Defensem Cuba, includes different types of aid, this time, sanitary, school and work clothing.
From El Prat de Llobregat (province of Barcelona) the container came out with the cargo collected and organized by the collectives Comitè de Solidaritat amb Amèrica Llatina del Prat, the Association «Treballem per Cuba, Treballem per Boyeros».
In addition, the Association of Cubans in Catalonia and Ensenyament Solidari de Sant Boi de Llobregat participated and the staff of the Cuban consulate in Barcelona, and members of other solidarity entities, such as Mollet amb Cuba, collaborated in the charge.
The container carries sanitary material (mostly adult diapers), school supplies, building materials, work clothes and other items.
The destinations are the Julio Trigo hospital in Havana, the «Latin America» School, the Popular Power of Havana and the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, who will be in charge of distributing the materials.
