Historic collaboration in health department between Cuba and Mexico

Mexico City, 13 Sep.- The general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, today described the collaboration between Cuba and Mexico in health as historic.

In his traditional Tuesday report at the presidential morning press conference at the National Palace, the senior official explained that there are already 277 Cuban medical specialists in seven states located in hospitals in Mexico.

He said there are 92 of them in Nayarit, Colima 57, Tlaxcala 59, Baja California Sur 10, Zacatecas 11, Sonora 5, and Oaxaca 43. Soon, he announced, will arrive the last 333 who will be assigned to the states of Oaxaca, Guerrero and Veracruz.

With his presence, he said, Mexico was able to complete its staff of specialists to 100 percent in the hospitals of Nayarit, Colima and Tlaxcala, and increase them to cover deficits in the rest of the entities, so we consider it a historical fact.

He reiterated that Mexico, and in particular the IMSS, are very grateful for this gesture of the brotherly Cuban people and Government, which was recently expressed to Deputy Minister Tania Hernández Cruz, who commands this team and the details of this relationship between two sister nations.
